Yes. Padosii is free for residents to download and use. There are no subscription fees, no commission and no paid listings.

No. MyGate and NoBrokerHood are society-management apps: a society's management committee signs up to run things like visitor entry, dues and accounting.

Padosii is for residents themselves. It does not handle gates, visitors or maintenance payments. Residents use it to ask neighbours, share what they know and do things together.

Nextdoor and Hoplr describe themselves as neighbourhood social networks, and neither lists India among the countries it operates in. Padosii is built for neighbourhoods in India, and it is not a social network: there is no feed of posts, no followers, no likes and no public profiles.

Padosi is the Hindi word for neighbour. The two i's in Padosii are two neighbours, side by side.

Padosii is available in selected neighbourhoods and expanding neighbourhood by neighbourhood. If your neighbourhood is not on Padosii yet, you can request it in the app. The app is on Android and iPhone.

Sign in with your mobile number, add your address and allow a one-time location check. Some neighbourhoods let you join straight away; others review requests first. If yours is not listed, request it in the app.

No. Residents join Padosii themselves. There is nothing for an RWA, society office or managing committee to sign up for, install or run.

When a join request needs a check, the Padosii team reviews it, not your society.

Padosii stays neighbourhood-first and is never a city-wide feed.

Yes. Contacts that neighbours suggest are checked, then kept in Neighbour Contacts, organised by category. The next resident who needs someone similar can find them there and call or message on WhatsApp from the app.

So a good answer to one Ask keeps helping the neighbourhood after the Ask is over.

A group chat is a conversation. It is good for talking, but messages scroll away, and a good recommendation is hard to find a month later.

Padosii is built around actions instead. An Ask goes to your neighbourhood, suggestions are checked and kept in Neighbour Contacts by category, and activities have a time, a place and a number of spots. You do not need to join a large group chat, and your mobile number is not shown to other residents.

It is designed not to. There is no social feed: no posts to scroll, no likes, comments or followers. Each resident has daily and monthly Ask limits, which keep requests useful and relevant.

Padosii sends no ads and no promotional notifications.

No. Suggestions are checked for basic accuracy, completeness and duplicates before they appear, but Padosii does not background-check, employ or guarantee anyone.

Treat a suggestion as a neighbour's honest pointer, not a guarantee. Talk to the person and check for yourself. Suggested by neighbours. Verify before hiring.

No. Nobody pays to be listed. Padosii is not a marketplace: it does not sell listings, book services or take commission.

No. Justdial describes itself as a local search engine for businesses and services. Padosii is built on what neighbours know: a resident suggests someone they know, often with a note from their own experience.

Suggestions are checked before they appear in Neighbour Contacts, and nobody pays to be listed.

No. Padosii does not display your mobile number to other residents. Some features let you choose to share it, such as with the host of a Padosii Play activity you join. That sharing is off by default and lasts only until the activity starts.

Contacts that neighbours suggest can be called or messaged on WhatsApp from the app by residents of that neighbourhood.

No. Padosii uses your location only when you allow it: to show and verify neighbourhoods near you, or to set an activity's place to where you are. It does not ask for background location or track where you go.

Padosii Play is the activities part of the Padosii app, on Android and iPhone. Residents start or join local sports activities with neighbours: pick a sport, a time, a place and how many more players you need.

Not really. Playo and Hudle are sports apps where you can book venues across many sports and cities. Padosii Play is smaller by design: it shows activities from your neighbourhood and, if the host chooses, nearby neighbourhoods.

Padosii Play does not book venues or take payments. Someone picks a sport, a time and a public place, says how many more players they need, and neighbours join.

Yes. That is the point: activities let you meet people who live near you. If you can see an activity and spots are left, tap I'm in.

You do not have to share your number. After joining you can choose to share it with the host, and a host can let joined players contact them. Both are off by default.

Yes. When you create an activity, you choose who can see and join it: your neighbourhood only, or your neighbourhood and nearby neighbourhoods. It is never shown to the whole city.
